In the spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and philanthropy, the DC Aggie Athletic Foundation proudly presents the 16th Annual DC Aggie Golf Classic. What started as a modest fundraising event in 2008 has blossomed into a celebrated tradition, bringing together golf enthusiasts and supporters of North Carolina A&T State University's athletic programs. This year's classic promises an exciting day of golf, networking, and giving back to the Aggie community.

North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) has once again affirmed its position as a trailblazer in higher education by being recognized as the number one public historically black university in the nation. NCAT stands as the largest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in the United States. Not only does it hold this esteemed title, but NCAT is also a doctoral, high-research activity, land-grant institution—the only HBCU in North Carolina to boast all these designations.

NCAT's excellence extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by its remarkable athletic achievements. All North Carolina A&T sports teams and student-athletes transitioned to compete in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) as of July 1, 2022—except for football and bowling. This strategic move aligns with the university's dedication to fostering a competitive and inclusive athletic program.

A significant milestone in NCAT's athletic journey occurred in July 2023, when the university joined the CAA Conference in football. This move represents a bold step toward becoming the first HBCU to be a part of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). NCAT's football program, with its rich history and tradition, now competes on a larger stage, contributing to the university's mission of breaking barriers and setting new standards.

A Legacy of Giving:

The inaugural DC Aggie Golf Classic, held on June 23, 2008, marked the genesis of a significant fundraising initiative for the DC Aggie Athletic Foundation. As the athletic booster organization for North Carolina A&T State University, the foundation's sole objective is to raise funds exclusively for Aggie Athletics. Over the years, the classic has become a vital source of support, directly benefiting Aggie student-athletes through initiatives such as academic counseling, proactive monitoring, study skills development, tutoring programs, career counseling services, and scholarships.
